Getting Started

Welcome to PoliEngine, the easiest way for candidates and campaigns to build professional websites. We're going to go over some of the basics of PoliEngine so you can begin building your website.

The first thing most people do is to change their headers for their site. This part is easy. There are two types of headers in PoliEngine: full width and partial width headers.

For full width headers the image is a background image, so to change that bring your mouse over the "block" and click the black "BLOCK" box.

From here you can change out the full width header by clicking on the image (1) and uploading your photo. 

The next important area to look at is the "Background Image Position, (3) This determines where your photo sits on the background. You can set it from top left to bottom right and in between, to ensure your face shows on where you want it to.

The next thing to look at is the "Parallax Effect", this make the image move along with the scroll, giving a neat effect that is both subtle and stands out.

You may have an image where the candidate is on the opposite side of our template. To change that simply click and drag the widgets from one column to the other

The next thing to do is to ensure your site wide styling matching your branding. To do this, click on the "Global Styling" option on the left side of the screen.

From there you select "Color Palette" and that will bring you to your color options.

The "Primary Color" is your main color to be used on background and buttons. It is generally a more muted color that is easy on the eyes since it will be the main color throughout your site.

Your first "secondary color" is your accent color meaning it is used when you want to highlight a specific thing, like a donation button. In the example above for Adrian Hayes-Santos the accent color is a bright red, which would be overwhelming as a main color but works well as an accent.
